Meet the Moorpark Homes Team

JIM OVEREND – Director

In 1961 he began his career as an apprentice joiner. In 1967 he moved into the newly emerging timber frame industry. His business career began in 1972 with Tinto Construction who specialised solely in the building of timber frame houses. He then began manufacturing ‘house kits’ in 1974, establishing a successful and reputable timber frame manufacturing company which was sold in 1985. In 1987, along with his co-directors, he established Moorpark Homes. Today, the company is renowned and respected by customers, builders and suppliers alike, for their customised timber frame homes.

Jim is married, has four of a family and seven grandchildren. Three of the family are married and live in a ‘Moorpark Home’. His hobbies are: gardening, scuba diving and country sports.

Jim never compromises on quality, providing a service that ensures customer satisfaction.

BILL MARSHALL – Director

Bill’s career began in 1964 as an apprentice joiner. In 1978 he moved to a renowned timber frame company, gaining nine years experience manufacturing custom built homes. He joined Moorpark Homes soon after its incorporation in 1987. Today, Bill continues to provide excellent customer service, assuring the punctual delivery of the completed kits to their designated sites when required. He is dedicated to providing quality and believes that this is what the customer expects and is entitled to.

After twenty-nine years in the industry, his expertise and values are assets to both the company and customer.

Bill is from a farming background and is married with one of a family. He enjoys country sports, playing golf and excels in the ‘roaring game’ – curling.

JIM SCOTT – Technical Director

Jim’s career as a technician began in 1974. He developed his skills in the drawing office of a prestigious steel fabrication firm near Motherwell. After eight years he worked for two well-known timber frame manufacturers and gained a wealth of experience in volumetric timber frame. In 1996 he moved to Moorpark Homes where he has progressed to Technical Director. Jim’s expertise ensures the design side of Moorpark’s operation runs smoothly by liaising with customers, engineers and architects. He keeps everyone updated with the relevant planning and technical information. His knowledge and understanding of the industry is renowned and well respected by customers, builders and suppliers who deal with Moorpark.

Jim is married with two of a family. His interests are: playing golf, photography and football.

LYNDA PAHNKE – Receptionist/Administrator

Lynda began her career as a typist in the office of a local insurance brokers. She also worked for sixteen years in the local branch of a leading National Bank. In 2001 she joined Moorpark Homes as Receptionist/Administrator. Her efficiency and pleasant disposition are highly regarded along with her impeccable attention to detail.

The initial contact when calling Moorpark is with Lynda who is always willing to be of assistance.

Lynda is married and has two of a family.
